Zone Teams Male / Female
Sherwood Parkdale Rural Minor Hockey Association partners with other Associations to form Zone Teams for both the Male and Female players. This is typically done to strengthen our player numbers across many of our divisions. It also allows us to offer higher levels of competitive teams that are equally matched to other associations across the province and abroad.
Male Zones:
Central Attack represents male "AA" and "AAA" teams for the divisions from U-13 through U-18, combining players from both the Sherwood Parkdale Rural Minor Hockey Association (“SPRMHA”) and the Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association (“CMHA”). CMHA hosts one U-13 AA Team, U-15 AAA, U-18 AA, while SPRMHA hosts one U-13 AA Team, U-15 AA and U-18 AAA. Central Attack teams compete against other male teams across the province in their respective leagues administered by Hockey PEI.
Female Zones:
Capital District represents female “A” teams for divisions from U-9 through U-18, combining players from both the Sherwood Parkdale Rural Minor Hockey Association (“SPRMHA”) and the Charlottetown Minor Hockey Association (“CMHA”).
CMHA hosts the U-9, U-13, and U-18 Capital District teams, while SPRMHA hosts the U-11 and U-15 Capital District teams. Capital District teams compete against other female teams across the province in their respective leagues administered by Hockey PEI.
Presently at the U7 division, the females and males are joined. Female directors from both SPRMHA and CHMA are working towards the goal of ultimately having a separate U7 division for females only (similar to the other aforementioned divisions).
Central Storm represents female ‘AAA’ teams for divisions from U-11 through U-18. Subject to try-outs, Central Storm teams combine players from SPRMHA, CMHA, Pownal Minor Hockey Association (“PMHA”), and Kings County Minor Hockey Association (“KCH”). Each partnering association hosts a division. Currently, PMHA hosts U-11 (two teams), KCH hosts U-13 (two teams), CMHA hosts U-15 (one team), and SPRMHA hosts U-18 (one team). The female AAA league is represented by Central Storm (Zone 3), Western Wind (Zone 1), and Mid-Isle Wildcats (Zone 2).
