U11 A Falcons Christmas Toy Drive

The Sherwood-Parkdale U11A Falcons lent a helping hand to the Santa’s Angels Christmas toy drive Tuesday. Coach Chris Linzel-Waddell and his son, Hudson, a forward on the club, made the donation on behalf of the team.

Santa’s Angels is a group of individuals who organize, fundraise, and carry out a surprise Christmas morning visit by Santa and his elves to hundreds of people across Prince Edward Island.

A 100 percent volunteer-based group, its goal is to reach those who, for one reason or another, are not able to provide Christmas gifts and food for their children. Santa and the elves bring food, toys, and gifts on each visit, and each package is customized based upon the needs of the individual or family.

Members also visit senior homes, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and other care facilities on Christmas morning as well. The group was founded in 2004.
