***IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT*** Hockey PEI Statement - November 28th CPHO Announcement
2020-11-28Good evening members.
Today’s announcement was made by the Chief Public Health Office concerning two new active cases of COVID-19 on PEI – one relating to a member of Hockey PEI and its activities. The case does involve a player with the SPRMHA/CMHA Central U18 "A" Team #2. All close contacts of this individual such as teammates, team staff, and officials are being contacted by the Chief Public Health Office (CPHO) to arrange for testing and given directions for self-isolation for 14-days.
The Association continues to work with CPHO and HPEI to ensure the safety of our members. We ask that you be vigilant and continue to follow the guidelines and protocols set forth by CPHO and HPEI. We ask that all members continue to monitor for COVID-related symptoms, call 8-1-1- if necessary and do not attend any minor hockey-related events if you are exhibiting COVID-related symptoms.
At this point, all four SPRMHA/CMHA Central U18 "A" teams on-ice activities have been suspended. All other teams can continue with normal hockey operations until further notice.
We understand, there is a lot of worry and uncertainty amongst our members. We ask that you be patient and understanding while we navigate through this difficult time. We will continue to update our members as events unfold.
If you have any questions, please contact your Team COVID Liasion.
Sincerely
SPRMHA Executive Committee
