UPDATED MEMORANDUM ON THE EFFECTS OF NEW CPHO GUIDELINES - NOV 25th

2020-11-25

Please be advised, Hockey PEI has released the following update to yesterday's new CPHO Guidelines affecting hockey

Hello,

Following the release of yesterday’s memorandum, our office received some inquiries related to the same topic that we feel would be best addressed with our entire membership to avoid any confusion.

Question: “If a parent/guardian/family member from a household was in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia during the period of November 16th-23rd and has since returned home, can the children / other family members involved with hockey living at that same residence attend a Hockey PEI sanctioned event?”

Answer: Yes, any children or other individuals living within that household who may be involved with hockey are permitted to continue to attend Hockey PEI sanctioned events. Obviously, that parent / family member of the same household who travelled outside of PEI would not permitted at any Hockey PEI sanctioned event until their isolation period has been completed as per CPHO guidelines.

Those living in the household who will continue to be permitted at Hockey PEI sanctioned events are asked to closely monitor themselves for symptoms of COVID-19 and to stay home and call 811 if they are feeling un-well. As always, our members are reminded to pre-screen using the Hockey PEI pre-screening tool available in the Hockey PEI Return to Hockey Plan.

Moving forward (as of yesterday’s CPHO restrictions) if scenarios like the one in question above take place, our members should continue to follow Public Health guidelines highlighted in the PEI Government Essential Purposes Travel within Atlantic Canada page and the same answer above would apply.
