2019-2020 Season - Zone 3 Female Teams

For the 2019-2020 Minor Hockey season the female Zone 3 Committee which consists of representation from Sherwood/Ch'town/Pownal/Kings Associations would like to share the finalized plan for the coming season of Female AA/AAA hockey within our Zone as approved with Hockey PEI (Minor Council).

As a Zone committee we are committed to ensure that all our players have an exceptional experience and hope that as parents/guardians this is always top of mind.   

As a Zone we have determined the following rinks will host our AAA teams moving forward to allow for families to plan, add consistency, to reduce questions and allow each area of the Zone to each house a team every year.

Atom AA – Pownal

PeeWee AAA– Montague

BantamAAA/MidgetAAA –Ch'town arenas

Based on this direction/approval from Hockey PEI we will be moving forward with the following in Zone 3 based on analysis of the projected number of players and also a reflection of the competitiveness of our Zone in the 2018-2019 season.  Please note that these decisions are final.  At the end of the season we will request that Hockey PEI an the Female Steering Committee from Hockey PEI together  host a meeting in Zone 3 for all parents/guardians to provide any feedback so that when they are moving forward for the coming years they are hearing from all those interested in providing such feedback.

Atom AA – Two Teams.

These teams will be hosted in Pownal.  All players will tryout together and with the final numbers of players a draft that will have at least 1-2 ZoneRepresentatives together with the head coaches will occur so that the teams will be divided evenly.  The teams  will have a home game time each week and will be encouraged as they were last year to practice together which will increase the ice time they receive each week.

PeeWeeAAA  - TwoTeams

These teams will be hosted in Montague. All players will tryout together and with the final numbers of players a draft that will have at least 1-2 Zone Representatives together with the head coaches will occur so that the teams will be divided evenly.  The teams will  have a home game time and will be encouraged to practice together which will increase the ice time they receive each week.

Bantam AAA – One team

This team will be hosted in one of the Ch'town/Sherwood arenas

Midget AAA – One team

This team will be hosted in one of the Ch'town/Sherwood arenas  

 

The Zone 3 SelectionCommittee is accepting coaching applications for all teams until 5pm on August 27th.
