Skate for Kara
2018-04-05Kara MacRae is a vibrant and athletic 11-year old with a positive attitude and heart of gold. She is a wonderful friend and teammate and a proud member of the Capital District hockey family. In March 2018, just prior to hockey provincials, Kara was diagnosed with throat cancer. Although she was awaiting surgery and couldn’t play, she was at the rink all weekend to cheer on her Peewee A team as they won the Provincial Championship.

It is now time for us to support and cheer on Kara as she is starting her battle with cancer. Both Kara’s parents, Donnie MacRae and Violet Robinson, are self-employed and will have to devote the next few months to ensuring that Kara receives the best care possible. There will be trips to the IWK and much time off work. We would like to make this tough journey just a little bit easier for them all. Please grab your hockey jersey, helmet and skates and join us for a Skate for Kara to raise funds to help one of our favorite Capital District goaltenders.
When: Saturday, April 7th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm
Where: Eastlink Centre, Charlottetown
Admission by Donation – Bake Sale on Site
